Civil all Exam preparation Hydrology Part:-1

Civil  engineering all Exam preparation  Hydrology :-

Fluid : -

Type of Fluid :- 1) Liquid
                              Ex. Water, oil , patrol, Disel

                             2) Gas

CIVIL ENGINEERING HYDRAULICS APPLICATION:-

 Type of Fluid Mechanics

Hydrostatics

  - water supply

  - Irrigation

  - Water Power Genration

Hydrokinemetics  :-

Hydrodinemetics :-

TYPE S OF FlUID:-

1) ideal fluid
2) Real Fluid
3) Newtonian Fluid
4)non -Newtonian fluid
5) ideal plastic fluid

DENSITY  OR MASS DENSITY:-

Density = mass/volume
               =m/v

Density SI Unit kg/m³

UNIT OF IMPORTANT QUANTITITES:-

 - mass Density :- kg/m³

 -Weight Density :- N/mm³

 - Specific volume :- m³/ kg

-Specific Gravity :- no

- Surface Tension :-N/mm

- Dynamic viscosity :- N. S /m²

- kinematic viscosity :- cm²/S

- pressure :- pa or N/m²

- Bulk modulus of elasticity :- N/m²

Surface Tension :-

                                - The tensile force applied to the surface of a liquid in unit length is called surface tension. Page means surface, surface tension means surface  The unit of surface tension is N / m or N / mm.

Cohesion and adhesion :-

                                             -Cohesion adhesion is the attraction between two different types of liquid molecules between the molecules of the same liquid.  The attraction is called Kahezan.  The cohesion between mercury atoms is high, the cohesion between water molecules is low, while the adhesion between mercury and glass is low while the adhesion between water and glass is high.  So that the mercury does not wet the glass and is of glass.  So that the water soaks the glass and the mercury descends into the glass tube.

Pressure measuring equipment

1) Piezometer

2) Simple u-tube menometer

3)diffrencial U-tube menometer

4) inverted u - tube menometer

5) bourdon tube pressure gauge

Pressure or pressure intensity

P=F/A

SI Unit :- N/m²

W= water density

h = head

Various type of pressure

1) Atmospheric Pressure

2) Absolute pressure

3) gauge  pressure

4) vacuum  Pressure
